Our story

Allow me to introduce myself, straight out of the gates. My name is Tony, standing at a modest 5 foot 7. Since my early days, I've always had a bit of a belly, and my friends - yes, MY MATES - affectionately called me Fat Tony. It's one of those nicknames that's managed to stick with me for many years. Interestingly, a friend of mine used to refer to me as "Indoda Amafutha," which is a Zulu word. Oh, did I mention I hail from KwaZulu-Natal, the Zulu Kingdom? Hence, the Zulu word fittingly translates to "fat man." So, there you have it - that's the name!

My passion for cooking ignited at a very young age, and when the opportunity arose, I decided to establish "TONY'S PLACE" - a pizzeria featuring a wood oven that I personally built. Following its success, I ventured into the world of Mr. Sausage, an eatery specializing in designer sausages. Eventually, I made a life-changing decision and sold everything in South Africa to move to England.,

Upon arrival in England, I couldn't resist the craving for biltong paired with a cold beer - it was simply the best! This irresistible combination inspired me to share my mouth-watering flavors with all of Europe. And that's how Phat Tony's Biltong Company came to life, bringing the taste of authentic biltong to people across the continent.
